Dreams of the Father and Insights of the Daughter

Finding a new relationship built on the foundation of the past, we are moving into the future with anticipation for what will be discovered. Person to person, moving away from preconceived ideas about what this stage of life has to offer, we are open to the experience of each day as a revelation and a gift.

Dad and I are at Starbucks near the Advantage Rent-a-car in Des Plaines, Ill. It is 4:45pm. Lucinda's flight comes in at 7:20pm so we have some time to kill. Next stop will be getting dinner before picking her up. Just getting the car was an adventure. I made the reservation through Travelocity, going for the best price in a bigger car. The rest I didn't know till the driver enlightened us. Seems Advantage went bankrupt and just opened back up five weeks ago. Hertz bought them. The pick up for the Advantage shuttle wasn't with the other agencies at the airport. We had to go across the street and find the place near the airport Hilton. Luckily the young woman who was pushing Dad in the wheelchair knew where we needed to go. Waited quite a while. Dad even had time to make a pit stop before the van showed up. The first car Maribelle signed us up for was for 4 days when we needed a car for 20 days. We ended up with a Nissan Sonata. Dad and I proceeded to a Target to get cough drops and kleenex (we still are a little snarky).
