Dreams of the Father and Insights of the Daughter

Finding a new relationship built on the foundation of the past, we are moving into the future with anticipation for what will be discovered. Person to person, moving away from preconceived ideas about what this stage of life has to offer, we are open to the experience of each day as a revelation and a gift.

Friday's Festivities

Pictures of the Dearborn Inn

Dad got new swim trucks before the trip. I didn't know the pool would be outdoors. Alas, the temperature was too cool for us to get in the water.

Around and about the Inn there were preparations for a wedding.

Car outside Hotel.
On our way to Grosse Ile by bus, we all had dinner at the IHOP.
Dinner for everyone gratis.

Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson is one of the Tuskegee Airmen, the 332nd Fighter Group. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corpsduring World War II. His book, "Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free: The Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman and Pow," is an excellent personal memoir of the literature of those who served America so well in World War II and after.
On March 29, 2007, Jefferson attended a ceremony in the U.S. Capitol rotunda, where he and the other surviving veterans of the Tuskegee Airmen (and their widows) were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of their service.

This lady conducted the tour on the bus ride over, giving us the history of Grosse Ile.

Great Band!
